Someone sent me this and I immediately thought of some people's posts in
this very group.

I've just read a contribution from an American (though Brits aren't
immune!), describing a man's "taught pecks" ...

No doubt he has a sexpack as well?

When I taught at Osaka University in Japan many years ago I noticed some
of the more anglophile students grabbing their ears and chanting "Hold
ears" when something went wrong. Took me some time to tease out that
they had seen my wife clasp her head in her hands and shout "Oh dear"
when something hadn't quite gone right and had made their own
interpretation of what they though must be an English custom.
